Make way for the king of fruits
Mangoes are one of the most loved fruit for many with the coming of spring and summer fast approaching. Mango season has started from March end and can last upto June and in some places upto first week of August.
Let us get some Ayurveda perspective of the beloved mango fruit Unripe mango - increases pitta and vata
Semi-ripened mango( one which has fibrous mesh)-increases pitta
Fully ripe mango- sweet, astringent in taste, hridya, varnakara, increases blood and muscles, heavy, spermatogenic, pacifies vata, doesn't increase pitta.
Next time when you treat yourself with mangoes remember these qualities especially for the fans of raw mangoes.
